Pipes of Pan
Warring States Period Paxiang

The paxiang, or pipes of pan, comprised of graduated bamboo tubes with lacquered exterior. The black lacquer base with geometric forms painted in red.
Similar paxiang have been excavated from Hubei provence and are illustrated in the exhibition cataloge, Tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng in Suixian County, 1988, pg 64, fig 48.
